In English, quando falamos na terceira pessoa do singular, ou seja, HE/SHE/IT, sempre daremos uma marca especial aos verbs, ou seja, acrescentaremos algo neles. Yes, you have to memorize the rules below. Check this out:

1) Acrescentar (Add) S ao final do verb:

work - works
play - plays
write - writes
dance - dances
sing - sings

2) Verbs terminados em consonant+y, substitui o Y por I e add ES:

study - studies
cry- cries
try - tries
reply - replies

3) Verbs terminados em CH, O, SH or X, add ES:

watch - watches
go - goes
wash - washes
fix - fixes

4) O verb HAVE muda para HAS.

Essas rules só serão aplicadas nas affirmatives. Em caso de negatives, we use the auxiliary DOES+NOT, or DOESN'T, e NÃO FAZ ALTERAÇÃO NO VERB.

She doesn't play soccer.
He doesn't watch TV in the morning.
Patrick doesn't work.

O auxiliary DOES também será utilizado nas questions, seguindo a mesma ordem de DO e DON'T (em negatives).
